In light of Facebook’s announcement of Open Graph, many people are confused about what it actually is and what it is capable of. Here are the details on everything you need to know about how it works the way it does and also offers some concerns over the ability of users to block or turn off the technology. 그래프사이트

What is Open Graph?

Built directly into the Facebook Platform and consists of:

Social Plugins

Recommendations Plugin — provides suggestions for things Facebook users might like based on an algorithm built out of user interest and the interests of their friends
Upgraded “Like” Button — links “likes” directly to the business or brand’s Facebook page instead of using fan pages. Also, users can view which of their friends “liked” the same thing when they arrive at a web page.
Facebook Login – allows users to see which of their friends have also logged into a site using Facebook
Open Graph Protocol (meta tags)

Meta tags are written in html or xhtml code and are used in to define keyword attributes, meaning they pull up information based on the keyword attribute defined in the code, or in this case, in the URL
Example: the meta property defines the type of object, in this case a movie; and value defines the keyword attribute
Graph API (json descriptions)

Provides a description or collection of information about a website’s Facebook page or user Facebook profile based on inputting the Facebook user ID into a URL formatted like this: “https://graph.facebook.com/user-ID”
The User ID — can be either a numeric sequence or the character ID of the user’s profile or page; ex: first name.last name
The obvious implications of Open Graph is that anyone who has Internet access can pull up information on anyone or anything if they have the user ID to input into the search. User ID’s are not hard to find, even for pages of people you are not friends with and have privatized profiles. However, you can block open graph access by going to your privacy settings, then editing privacy settings for Apps, Games, and Websites. There is an option for editing settings on Instant Personalisation that prompts a video to pop up and begin playing. Close the video and you should see a pre-checked box that allows Open Graph, uncheck the box to block access.
